Gym Setup Wizard
When your gym is first created, the Setup Wizard guides you through a step-by-step process to configure everything you need to go live. The wizard is tailored to your subscription tier — some steps are automatically skipped if the feature isn't included in your plan.
Accessing the Wizard
- First login — The wizard launches automatically the first time you access your gym.
- Resume later — If you exit partway through, a green banner appears at the top of your dashboard linking you back to where you left off. This banner appears on every login until all steps are complete.
- Manual access — Go to Settings → Setup Checklist to re-enter the wizard at any time.
New Gym Setup Steps
For a brand-new gym, the wizard includes up to 17 steps (some may be skipped depending on your plan):
- Profile — Set your gym name, address, timezone, currency, contact details, and description. This is the same data shown in Settings → General.
- Memberships — Create your membership plans with pricing, billing cycles, credits, trial options, and programme access.
- Schedule — Set up your class timetable with recurring and one-off sessions.
- Staff & Roles — Invite coaches and managers, assign roles.
- Legal — Review pre-loaded contract and waiver templates. Customise as needed.
- Branding — Upload your logo and set brand colours for the member app and emails.
- Payments — Connect Stripe to accept online payments and automated billing.
- Programmes — Create training tracks (e.g. CrossFit, Open Gym, Weightlifting) that classes belong to. Requires Programmes feature.
- Join Flow — Configure the member sign-up wizard: required fields, payment gates, and steps.
- Notifications — Choose which email and push notifications you and your members receive.
- Workouts — Set default weight unit, workout visibility, and sharing preferences.
- Booking Rules — Configure late-cancel windows, waitlists, no-show policies, and booking open times.
- Displays — Review kiosk and display screen templates pre-loaded for your gym.
- Appointments — Set up personal training services, staff availability, pricing, and session packages. Requires Appointments feature.
- Website — Configure your public gym page, content, and SEO settings. Requires Website feature.
- Analytics — Connect Google Analytics and set up tracking. Requires Analytics feature.
- Automations — Build welcome sequences, engagement triggers, and re-engagement campaigns. Requires Automation Engine feature.
- Go Live — Review everything and launch your gym.
Migrating from Another Platform
If you selected "Migrating from another platform" during gym creation, the wizard adapts to a migration-focused flow:
- Profile — Confirm your gym details.
- Migration Triage — Choose how you want to migrate:
- Self-service — Opens the 7-step Migration Portal where you upload CSV files for memberships, programmes, payment options, people, classes, personal records, and workouts.
- Assisted by bliply — Automatically submits a high-priority support ticket requesting the bliply team to handle your data import. You'll be contacted to coordinate.
- Branding, Payments, Legal, Join Flow, Notifications, Booking Rules, Displays — Standard configuration steps.
- Migration — Access the 7-step data import portal (if self-service was chosen).
- Verify Data — Review imported data to ensure completeness.
- Go Live — Launch your gym.
Progress Tracking
Your setup progress is saved automatically after each step. If you leave the wizard, your progress is preserved in the database and you can resume exactly where you left off. The dashboard banner persists until all steps are marked complete.
Skipping Steps
Most steps can be skipped and completed later from their respective sections in the app. The required steps that cannot be skipped are: Profile and Go Live (and Migration Triage for migrating gyms).
Feature-Gated Steps
Steps tied to optional features (Programmes, Appointments, Website, Analytics, Automations) only appear if your subscription plan includes that feature. If you upgrade your plan later, you can access these features directly from the sidebar — they won't re-appear in the wizard.
