Family Accounts & Billing Sponsors

Bliply supports flexible billing arrangements where one member can pay for another's subscriptions. This is useful for families, corporate sponsorships, and partner arrangements.

Family Members

Link a member as a Family Member (previously called "dependant") under a parent account:

  1. Navigate to the member's profile in People.
  2. In the Overview tab, use the Parent Account field to link them to their parent member.
  3. Once linked, all subscription charges for the family member are automatically billed to the parent's Stripe customer.

Family members have their own full profile, bookings, attendance, and app access — only billing is shared. Family members cannot have family members of their own (no nested chains).

Billing Sponsors

For non-family billing arrangements, use Billing Sponsors:

  1. Navigate to the beneficiary's profile in People.
  2. Set up a billing sponsor link — this can only be done by Gym Admins.
  3. Once linked, all future subscriptions for the beneficiary are charged to the sponsor's payment method.

Both sponsor and beneficiary can view their billing relationship status on their profile page.

Billing Priority

When a subscription payment is processed, the system determines who to charge in this order:

  1. Parent account — If the member is a family member, the parent's payment method is used.
  2. Billing sponsor — If a sponsor link exists, the sponsor's payment method is used.
  3. Member's own payment method — If neither of the above applies, the member pays directly.
