Messaging & Notifying Members Through the App
Which channel to use
- Alert — something time-critical for everyone or a segment. Urgent and warning alerts always push; information alerts can be switched off by the member.
- Broadcast — general news to a group.
- Chat — a one-to-one conversation with a member.
- Automations — scheduled or triggered messages such as reminders and win-backs.
Sending an alert
- Open Messages in the admin area and choose Create alert.
- Pick the level — information, warning or urgent.
- Choose the audience, write the message and send.
- Check Alert statistics to see who received and read it.
What members experience
A push notification arrives on their phone; tapping it opens the exact alert or conversation and marks it read. Everything is also kept under the notifications bell.
Good practice
Reserve urgent for genuine emergencies — overuse trains members to ignore them and they cannot be turned off.
Bliply support and your chats
When Bliply support opens a gym's Messages area, chat content is hidden. They see who wrote each message, when it was sent and whether it was delivered and read — enough to diagnose a delivery fault without reading private conversations.
- If the wording is genuinely needed — a reported complaint, a safeguarding concern, a legal request or a bug — a senior support member can choose Reveal message content, pick a reason category and write a short explanation.
- Access lasts 60 minutes, is read-only, and expires on its own.
- Every reveal is written to your gym's activity log with the support person's name, the reason and the time, so you can see exactly when it happened.
- Support can never send messages on your behalf.
Let your members know this is possible if they ask — it is covered in their own privacy article in the member help centre.
